Mahakarya Geo Survey and RPS have embarked on an 18-month Metocean survey in 17 locations in Indonesia, marking the kick-off of the long-awaited Abadi Masela mega project by upstream oil and gas regulator SKKMIGAS and INPEX. The survey is a groundbreaking work in terms of Front End Engineering Design (FEED) process in gas field development. As part of the country’s National Strategic Projects, this work will contribute to the economic growth and the development of the eastern part and outer regions of Indonesia.

The deployment phase to install 17 metocean observation stations was carried out successfully in February 2020. On Sept. 14th, 2020, Mahakarya Geo Survey and RPS launched the first service visit campaign for equipment maintenance and data downloading.

Amid the highly challenging situation during the COVID-19 pandemic, Mahakarya Geo Survey and RPS strive to remain vigilant, prioritizing SAFETY with the goal of zero accidents and incidents in the work environment. The companies apply tight health and security protocols at all times, including the PCR test and quarantine period for all crew prior to boarding the ship, to avoid and break the chain of infection.

It is a great pride for Mahakarya Geo Survey and RPS to become an important and foremost part of the National Strategic Mega Project for ABADI Gas Field Development from SKKMIGAS-INPEX Abadi MASELA.
